“Well, most people keep going to school until they are done with college. After that, you can decide if you want to keep going to school anymore.”
“After college I’m going to go to Jet school.”
“You know, Aunt Nessa went to Jet school, so she can help you get into a Jet school.”
“I know, Mom, but it’s going to be a while before I go- I need to finish college first.” (Thank you!) ” Plus, you don’t really have to go to jet school to fly a jet.”
“Oh really? What do you have to do, then?”
“You just have to send an email to the US Army.”
“What should the email say?”
“Dear US Army- I want to fly a Jet, please.”
Sounds good to me. I’m sure the “please” will get the job done
-Two posts today because I’m up late doing what I swore to many on Friday that I wouldn’t be doing- Watching the Oscars. Those behind the screen dancers are amazing!
Connor was very “touchy-feely” today. And since my husband was out of town, all of that physical energy was concentrated on me. Don’t get me wrong- there are few things I enjoy more than playing with my son, but after the 57th grab for my neck today, I just had to ask-
Lately, it’s been difficult to get Connor to eat ANYTHING. For example, he used to love carrots, but now he “hates” cooked carrots & he claims he’s “allergic to” raw carrots. Anyway, the one constant that seems to prevail, for whatever reason, is Milk. That’s right- plain, old-fashioned Milk. Alright, I’ll admit, I only let him drink Organic Skim Milk- that’s how it’s always been. I guess I’ve had to feel some amount of control over his liquid intake once I stopped breastfeeding…Another discussion for another day…
Here’s Connor’s Pearl of the Day-
“Mom- Milk is my best friend. It makes me warm, makes me strong & when I drink it, I’m never thirsty.”
I think I’m going to have to call the American Dairy Association with this one…
Most of my son’s words of wisdom come out spontaneously during our 40 minute car-ride home from school/work each day. For a long time now I’ve been thinking about how wonderful it would be to share these”little pearls”. But, like most of my inspirations, life got in the way (over & over & over again!).
Todays Useful Piece of Trivia: “Mom…Did you know that Darth Vader is a man who doesn’t play by the rules?” Well put, Connor. I know a lot of men like that-
Next time a sunrise steals your breath or a meadow of flowers leaves you speechless, remain that way. Say nothing and listen as heaven whispers, "Do you like it? I did it just for you."
